Expansion sleeve
The black zone anchors and seals the packer in the hole. It should not block the path to the target crack.
KNOWLEDGE · EQUIPMENT AND INJECTION
The packer must maintain a sealed connection with the substrate and deliver material beyond the installation zone. Valve selection also affects process observation.
Select a packer for the actual hole and substrate material. The rubber sleeve should lie in a sound zone and must not block the crack intersection. A longer body can help pass through intermediate layers but does not replace assessment of their thickness.
Install bodies before resin appears in the holes. Material on the walls may change friction conditions and hinder later installation. The observation plan should follow the valve design and method of closing points.
READING THE CROSS-SECTION
The examples show bodies and different steel packer lengths. The expansion sleeve should sit in sound material and must not close the crack intersection. A packer strength parameter is not the recommended operating pressure for the structure.
The black zone anchors and seals the packer in the hole. It should not block the path to the target crack.
Carries the connection from the hole entrance to the installation zone. Different body lengths accommodate different access conditions.
Where the hose is connected and material injected. Connection tightness and valve operation influence process control.
Clean the hole and install according to the specific packer's instructions. Excessive expansion can damage the rubber sleeve or weak substrate. Check installation stability in a trial instead of applying one tool setting to all materials.
During injection, distinguish leaks at the sleeve, thread and coupling. Each has a different cause and makes it harder to assess the amount reaching the structure. Before adjustment or disconnection, stop and depressurise the system according to the instructions.
The valve opening threshold affects the start of injection, while backflow sealing helps retain material. These are different properties. Also select the coupling and connection method.
Prepare observation points to show material communication and allow controlled closure. The packer's permitted pressure is not a recommended setting for the structure. After completion, remove components and seal holes according to the method.
Start with the repair objective and conditions in the injection zone. Check preparation, working time, pumping and cleaning in the selected material's data sheet. The correct packer is part of this method, not a substitute for substrate assessment.
Prepare a cross-section, a description of water and movement, and results of previous trials. ResinBau helps select the material and application method.
