Stitching cracked masonry
Embedding helical anchors in prepared slots or holes. The anchor type, length, cover and spacing are determined by the repair design.
HELICAL ANCHORS AND MASONRY REPAIR
Mortar for embedding helical anchors in a system for strengthening cracked masonry structures. Suitable for manual and machine filling of prepared slots and holes.

Read values together with the temperature, material state and test conditions.
| Compressive strength after 1 / 7 / 28 days | 10 / 30 / 40 MPa |
|---|---|
| Flexural strength after 1 / 7 / 28 days | 2.5 / 4.5 / 8.0 MPa |
| Pull-off adhesion after 28 days | 2.0 MPa to a concrete substrate |
| Grain size | Up to 1.0 mm |
| Mixing / resting / remixing | 3 min / approximately 2 min / approximately 1 min |
Mortar parameters and adhesion to concrete do not determine the load-bearing capacity of the complete anchorage in masonry. The quantity of 1,80 kg/l refers to the dry product; mixing water is added to make the fresh mix.
First establish the repair objective, substrate condition, presence of water and joint movement.
Embedding helical anchors in prepared slots or holes. The anchor type, length, cover and spacing are determined by the repair design.
Applications in general construction, industrial construction and historic building renovation. The condition and load-bearing capacity of the masonry must allow the system to transfer forces.
The mortar does not replace an assessment of the cause of cracking or a strengthening design. Dampen the substrate and remove excess water; do not install an anchor in a dirty, loose or unfilled slot. This is an embedding material, not a standalone injection material for flexible crack sealing.
Dampened substrate without excess water; measured mixing water. A strengthening system designed to transfer forces; not an expansion joint filling.

Force transfer according to the repair design
Work sequence after assessing the structure and selecting the method. Full requirements are given in the product instructions.
Remove contaminants and dust. Dampen the anchorage location and remove excess water; repeat dampening for highly absorbent substrates.
For 15 kg of dry product, use 3 l of water. Add the mortar to the water and mix at low speed for 3 min. Wait approximately 2 min, then mix again for approximately 1 min.
Place the first layer without voids, install the anchor and apply the second layer. The TDS indicates that stabilising clips may be used.
Smooth the joint; carry out subsequent work after setting, in accordance with the method. Clean tools with water and maintain the pump according to its instructions.
Choose the instructions for your task and calculate material quantities using clearly defined assumptions.
