Rigid filling of a concrete crack
Assess the structure and the cause of cracking. The filling is intended to act as a rigid connection; force transfer and repair acceptance are defined by the design.
RIGID CRACK FILLING
Two-component epoxy resin for rigid filling and sealing of cracks and strengthening repairs. Selection for structural bonding requires an assessment of the cause and activity of the crack.
| Product / pump | Epoxy A + B; 1K pump after mixing |
|---|---|
| A : B ratio | 100 : 25 by weight (4 : 1) |
| Mixture viscosity | 350 mPa·s at 20°C |
| Mixture density | 1.10 g/cm³ at 20°C |
| Working / curing time at 20°C | 10 min / 6 h |
| State after reaction | Rigid bond; no foaming on contact with moisture |
Read values together with the temperature, material state and test conditions.
| Viscosity of A / B / mixture at 20°C | 750 / 25 / 350 mPa·s |
|---|---|
| Density of A / B / mixture at 20°C | 1.15 / 0.95 / 1.10 g/cm³ |
| Compressive strength | Minimum 50 MPa |
| Tensile strength — designation in the TDS | Minimum 15 MPa |
| Elongation at break | Approximately 3.5% |
| Application temperature | Material, ambient and substrate above +5°C |
| Working / curing time at 20°C | 10 minutes / 6 hours |
Mechanical values describe the material; the TDS does not state the test method or specimen age for these values. They are not the design capacity of the repaired element. 6 hours of curing does not mean 6 hours are available to inject the resin.
First establish the repair objective, substrate condition, presence of water and joint movement.
Assess the structure and the cause of cracking. The filling is intended to act as a rigid connection; force transfer and repair acceptance are defined by the design.
The TDS covers dry cracks and moisture tolerance without foaming. Where water flows through a crack, first address the ingress and surface preparation.
The scope of the TDS includes stabilising and strengthening injections. Match viscosity and the delivery path to the pores, voids and substrate condition.
EpoxPower forms a rigid filling. Do not select it as a flexible seal for an active movement joint or for automatic accommodation of further crack movement. Eliminating the cause of damage and checking the repair remain part of the structural task.
Dry cracks; moisture tolerance does not mean application in active flow. Rigid filling; do not extend selection to a moving expansion joint.

Work sequence after assessing the structure and selecting the method. Full requirements are given in the product instructions.
Remove loose fragments and dirt. Drill holes, clean them with compressed air, install packers and close the crack surface in accordance with the method.
To 100 parts of A, add 25 parts of B. Pour B into A and mix thoroughly with a low-speed mixer. Do not replace the weight ratio with equal volumes.
Inject immediately with a 1K pump. At 20°C, the working time is 10 min; higher temperatures shorten the delivery time. Match the batch size to output and access to the injection points.
For a vertical crack, start at the lowest point. Track material passage, quantity and outflows. Curing at 20°C takes 6 h; specify the time before loading the repair in the method.
Choose the instructions for your task and calculate material quantities using clearly defined assumptions.
